From Sol ~
Good day, Lytehelm! I hope your weekend is soon to be filled with all the best things you wish it to.
It has been a few months since our last correspondence. A starhelmsman's work is never done, and while the path of humanity is of key concern to me, I still have duties in other systems. Much traveling have I done between the stars. Sometimes we have to muster our efforts elsewhere before we can return with proper resolve to the primary task at hand. I shall now turn it over to that creator Josh for a less eloquent briefing.
Hey everyone, Josh DuJordan here! Just like Sol, I've also been busy these past 3 months working a new second job. However, this studio has been on my mind every day, and I've been putting stuff together in my spare time. The comic will return to Kickstarter again this summer.
The most important thing to me is getting this story in your hands. The original goal had everything to do with being able to support myself while making only the comic and nothing else. Having more stable income this time will allow me to reduce the funding goal, which I believe will increase the likelihood of funding.
I've also been looking over the comic again and reaching out for feedback. I want it to be the best it can be. When I initially wrote it for Webtoons, I had to cut a lot to meet the deadline. I believe cutting content can help the overall story stay true to its core and leave out the unnecessary fluff, but sometimes too much gets cut away, and while I like my readers to be able to analyze what I give them and come to their own conclusions, they also shouldn't be so lost as to not enjoy what's there.
If you have any feedback on the campaign, or the story, you can leave feedback at the link below:
Thank you so much! Now, on to even more fun!
It's a celebration!
To celebrate Starhelm's first full year in operation, there will be a special Year One poster available for purchase on our site Tuesday, June 7th! We'll let you know when these go live. Like the previous posters, they'll come with a bookmark (with a new design!) as well as a unique numbered certificate of authenticity signed by me! This poster features Sol, Daru, and 21 (not her true name!) from "Fire! Fire!"
We may only have an animation out and a couple posters, but working on this studio and its projects gives me tremendously positive purpose, and someday I promise there will be more, whether I have a few hands helping me, or I make it all by hand myself on sticky notes!
Have a great weekend, Lytehelm.
Aim for the stars ~ JD
